Fiber Technician
Minneapolis, MN / Regional TravelFull Time
Install and maintain fiber optic cable for FTTP deployments. Underground and aerial construction experience required.
Responsibilities
- Install underground and aerial fiber drops from distribution terminals to customer premises
- Place and terminate fiber optic cable in residential and commercial settings
- Perform basic splicing and testing using OTDR equipment
- Coordinate with utility locates and right-of-way requirements
- Complete daily work orders and maintain accurate documentation
Requirements
- 2+ years fiber installation or telecom construction experience
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10 certification required (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather
Nice to Have
- CDL license
- Directional boring experience
- Splicing certification (BICSI, FOA, or equivalent)
- Experience with Calix, Adtran, or Nokia ONT equipment
Compensation
Competitive hourly rate $22-32/hour based on experience. Weekly pay, overtime opportunities, company vehicle, tool allowance, health benefits, and 401(k) match.
